งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาตามโครงการศึกษาวิจัยเพื่อจัดการความรู้เรื่องอัตลักษณ์และภูมิปัญญาด้านที่อยู่อาศัยของท้องถิ่น : กรณีศึกษาพื้นที่ภาคเหนือ มีขอบเขตการศึกษาในบริเวณลุ่มน้ำน่าน เขตจังหวัดน่านและอุตรดิตถ์ เป็นการศึกษา สำรวจ รวบรวมข้อมูลด้านที่อยู่อาศัยด้านที่อยู่อาศัยและวิถีชีวิตการอยู่อาศัยในทุกมิติของชุมชน เป็นการศึกษาวิจัยเพื่อจัดการความรู้ สร้างสื่อสารสนเทศในรูปแบบพิพิธภัณฑ์เสมือนที่ทุกคนเข้าถึงได้ และน่าสนใจเหมาะกับเยาวชนคนรุ่นใหม่และทุกคน ตลอดจนการจัดเก็บข้อมูลสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์ลงฐานข้อมูล เพื่อการอนุรักษ์และใช้ประโยชน์ด้านต่างๆต่อไป ผลการศึกษา ได้ข้อมูลเรือนพื้นถิ่นเพื่อจัดเก็บลงฐานข้อมูลระบบสารสนเทศภูมิศาสตร์จำนวน 35 หลัง สำรวจรังวัดเพื่อเขียนแบบทั้ง 2 มิติ และ 3 มิติจำนวน 10 หลัง และเขียนแบบ 2 มิติจำนวน 7 หลัง วิดีทัศน์แสดงเรื่องราวของชุมชนและเรือนพื้นถิ่นในน่านและอุตรดิตถ์ และภูมิปัญญาด้านที่อยู่อาศัยพื้นถิ่นจำนวน 4 เรื่อง โปสเตอร์ 17 แผ่น และจัดแสดงไว้ในเว็บไซต์พิพิธภัณฑ์เสมือน การทำงานยังพบว่าการคงอยู่ของเรือนพื้นถิ่นในพื้นที่ศึกษาที่ปรากฏให้เห็นนั้น เรือนพื้นถิ่นคงอยู่ในพื้นที่อุตรดิตถ์มากกว่าน่าน ทั้งจำนวน ความหนาแน่น และสภาพปัจจุบัน โดยเฉพาะในเขตเมืองลับแล ส่วนในน่าน พบเรือนพื้นถิ่นแบบดั้งเดิมที่เป็นเรือนชาวบ้านหลงเหลือน้อยมาก บริเวณที่พบมากคือ เวียงสาและภูเพียง แต่การคงอยู่ของเรือนพื้นถิ่น โดยเฉพาะในอุตรดิตถ์นอกเมืองลับแลนั้น ส่วนใหญ่เป็นการคงอยู่เฉพาะตัวเรือน แต่สิ่งแวดล้อมเปลี่ยนแปลงไปมาก ทั้งในระดับชุมชน และระดับบริเวณบ้าน หลายหลังถูกแบ่งที่ขายไปหรือสร้างอาคารอื่นเบียดชิด หลายหลังถูกดินถมสูงจนจมดิน จนขาดเสน่ห์ของสถาปัตยกรรมพื้นถิ่นไป รูปแบบเรือนที่ค้นพบ ส่วนใหญ่ยังคงเป็นเรือนไม้ยกพื้นสูงใต้ถุนโล่ง บันไดอยู่นอกเรือน และใช้ผังพื้นแบบประเพณีของล้านนา คือ ผังเฮือนบะเก่าจั่วแฝด หรือจั่วเดี่ยว แต่รูปแบบตัวเรือน และโดยเฉพาะรูปหลังคาที่มีเพียงบางหลังที่เป็นแบบประเพณี ส่วนหนึ่งจะเปลี่ยนรูปหลังคาเป็นปั้นหยาหรือรูปอื่นๆจนดูไม่เป็นเรือนแบบประเพณี<br><br>This research project is part of the Knowledge Management of Thai Identity and Local Wisdom on Housing Development in North Regions Case Study. The area of study is located within the Nan River Basin which extends from Nan Province to Uttaradit Province. The research framework includes site surveying and housing data collection in relation to various aspects of folk life. The project aims to attain its result through tools such as knowledge management and media technologies in order to create a virtual museum which will allow easy access for a wide range of users. Geographic Information System (GIS) is also used to gather useful data for conservational, and other, purposes. This project has successfully added thirty-four houses to the GIS database. Ten outstanding houses selected from the total of thirty-four have been completed as two-dimensional (2D) architectural drawings and three-dimensional (3D) models. A further seven selected houses have also been completed as two-dimensional (2D) architectural drawings. Four video presentations are used to illustrate the history of the vernacular housing and local wisdom of Nan and Uttaradit. The final results of the project will also be presented as seventeen posters which will be exhibited on the virtual museum website. It has been made evident during the project that the number of remaining vernacular houses found in Uttaradit, especially on the outskirts of Laplae City, is greater than that to be found in Nan, where original vernacular housing still exists only in the districts of Wiang Sa and Phu Phiang. However, the vernacular architecture itself is all that remains in Uttaradit, while the surrounding environment on a neighborhood and district scale has changed dramatically; the aesthetic of the outstanding vernacular architecture has been engulfed by the amount new surrounding buildings and development, which has altered the ground floor level of the vernacular houses.
